The building of flats provides developers with a number of issues regarding the provision of utilities. Blyth has developed a specialist service for servicing flats with water and gas. We can work along side the nominated consultant engineer or architect and provide a “one stop” solution for dry risers, gas, pump sets and storage tanks.
Dry Risers
With the introduction of Dry Risers to domestic dwellings over 11m, Blyth have added the installation of both Wet and Dry risers to their services (view typical arrangement )
Dry rising mains provide efficient and economical fire protection for high rise buildings. Both inlet breeching and landing valves are generally housed in cabinets for protection and are available in a range of finishes.
All commissioning work is carried out by our own operatives and is fully compliant to the appropriate British Standard.
Boosted Water
With Constraints being placed on the available water pressure to new developments, there has been an increase in the need to install a boosted water system to high rise buildings.
Blyth can provide a turnkey package for the installation of a boosted water system from the supply main to the consumers control valve. This can include the installation of the water tank, booster set and associated pipe work.
All commissioning is carried out in house and to industry standards.
Welded Steel
A flatted development above 20m in height requires that the gas supply be a fully welded system. Blyth has industry certified welders and is able to offer a full design, installation and testing service for supplies to flats
